This is a sweet little erotic short story that kept me giggling until the very end. The Naughty Angel Returns is about a woman that was murdered and sent back in another woman's body, to save her soul-mate. Sounds silly right? Well it is. But in a good way!
Let's meet our Hero and Heroine.
Haley is the reincarnated soul of a former not so nice chick. She returns to Earth into the body of a plus size model also named Haley. Go ahead and giggle at the cheekiness of it. I did. She came off a bit on the goofy side, but she was also strong. So she was a goofy and brave reincarnated soul. Got to love an author's imagination!
Crispin is a reporter and true crime writer. At first I imagined him as a skinny little writer geek, but then I found out he was once a soldier. So, don't worry you still get your bad a** alpha hero. And Alpha he was! When I close my eyes, I can see him beating his chest and saying Me Man!
Now to the important part.... SEX!!! (I did mention it was erotic.)
The sex was hot was a capital H! There was a bit of Dom and Sub stuff, but it was mostly just steamy love scenes. What I loved so much about them was that the author added humor to every romp. The heroine would call him stud as they were getting it on. At one point, the hero bellowed "My Woman" as he was finding his happy ending. Yes, it was cheesy. But so funny, and it did not take away from the sexuality of the scenes.
I won't go into the story much. It was short, and I do not want to give too much away. If you like a damsel in distress that is willing to fight to save her man, a hero that will spank you then kiss it better, and a fast paced story this is for you.
My only complaint was the length. I really felt this could have been a full length novel. It was funny, sexy, and action packed. It deserved a full book.
Would I recommend it? Heck Yes!

Drama, mystery, crime, sexy action this book has it all. As a fan of Jans and Pierce I particularly enjoyed their Angel series. The stories are well written and intriguing.
To me, this story was even better than the prequel--The Naughty Angel Made Me Do It. It had more action (in and out of the bedroom) and less of the really graphic BDSM, which made it more to my taste (no pun intended and no offense to Nicole!). The new plus-size heroine, Haley, reminded me somewhat of Jane in Drop Dead Diva, one of my favorite T.V. shows, and Crispin, the hero, was very sexy and manly. I only wished his middle name--Talon--had been used as a pet name more after he and Haley got together because it's a lot hotter than the name Crispin. I especially enjoyed the recall by Max, but I think the story would have been much more angsty if it hadn't been reversed until the very last minute, leaving Crispin to put the clues together and find a decoy to lure the bad guy to his doom. Just my take on it. It was still a very titilating and exciting mid-length novel.

The Naughty Angel Returns tells the story of Haley, a woman trapped in purgatory who is offered a second chance on earth. While there, she is under constant surveillance from her supervising angel, Max. She has a limited amount of time to find her killer and bring him to justice, all while operating within a tight set of rules.
I liked the premise of this book. How much fun is a story about an angel come back to earth to right wrongs? Unfortunately, the writing doesn't live up to the promise. As the reader we are left to fill in the gaps in too many places. And there are too many leaps in the connection between Haley and her love interest, Crispin. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big believer in love at first sight and happily ever after, but the writer has to make me believe it. In this case, the emotions were all surface level. I wanted more depth.
If you are looking for a quick afternoon read that will entertain without taxing your emotions, this book will do the job.
